One of the greatest things about living in Riverside, CA is that you are never far away from great nature walks and parks. Within just a short drive, you can leave the concrete jungle behind and lose yourself in some truly phenomenal scenery. Whether you’re taking the kids out for an afternoon in the park or you simply fancy a bit of alone time in nature, here are some of our favorite spots for a day out.

Mount Rubidoux Park

Covering an area of 161 acres, Mount Rubidoux Park features more than 2 miles of hiking trails, many of which are paved. These trails take you around and to the top of the eponymous Mount Rubidoux which boasts an impressive white cross at the summit. At the peak, you’re also greeted by some absolutely majestic views of the surrounding area and you can even see as far as the next set of mountains.

Fairmount Park

Featuring one of the most impressive playgrounds in the area, Fairmount Park is a fun day out for the whole family. Spread over an area of 245 acres, this incredible park features a golf course, some tennis courts, and a boat rental shop. Sailing and fishing are allowed in the lake, however, fishing enthusiasts are not allowed to take their catch home with them.

As if this wasn’t enough, there are also numerous picnic spots and even some public BBQs, making this a great place where you could spend a full day out with either friends or family

Sycamore Highlands Park

With more than 420 acres of land contained within its boundaries, Sycamore Highlands Park is one of the largest in the area. There are many paths that are suitable for hiking or running, and these take you through a range of hugely varying scenery including some vast flatlands and, of course, a huge sycamore forest.

With tons of picnic spots, hiking trails, and children’s play areas, Sycamore Highlands Park is an excellent day out for the whole family. So, load up all 8 seats in the new Ford Expedition and take everyone along for a day of fun, games, and exploring.

All this nature just a short drive away makes Riverside an amazing place to live for nature lovers. Within minutes you can get to some beautiful natural wonders, offering a great respite from the stresses of urban life. These are some of our favorite spots, and we’d love to hear how you liked them, so stop by and visit us at Fritts Ford to tell us about your day out and get your car that professional service while you’re here.
